Environment Analysis
(The
Effect of Classroom Environment on Student Learning )
Based on my reading that is about Environment
Analysis involves looking at the factors
that will have a strong effect on decisions about the goals of the course, what
to include in the course, and how to teach and assess it. These factors can
arise from the learners, the teachers, and the teaching and learning situation.
Environment analysis is also
called “situation analysis” (Richards, 2001) or “constraints analysis”. A
constraint can be positive in curriculum design. For example, a constraint
could be that the teachers are all very highly trained and are able and willing
to make their own class activities. This would have a major effect on
curriculum design as much of the format and presentation work could be left to
the teachers. In some models of curriculum design, environment analysis is
included in needs analysis. This
is the focus of situation analysis. Situation analysis is an analysis of
factors in the context of a planned or present curriculum project that is made be
political, social, economic, teacher, learner adoption or institutional.

There
are many things that can affect this classroom environment. There are physical elements such
as wall art, arrangement of desks, or resources. Also, there are intangible
elements such as the energy of the classroom, the rules, or the sounds within
the room. Each of these can impact a student’s focus and achievement in the
class. They can also affect a teacher’s attitude in the class according to Ryan
Hannah (2013). Included in each of these elements of the classroom is the
emotional environment. The way in which a teacher organizes their class, or how
they control it, will yield positive or negative consequences for their
students. If a teacher is unmotivated or negative there will be a direct impact
on the students within the classroom. Similarly, if a teacher is motivated and
positive they will likely have a beneficial impact on their students as well.
It is important for a teacher to understand this cause and effect in order to
understand how to organize their classroom to create a better learning .
In
this paper, I will investigate the teacher’s attitude in the classroom. Having a positive attitude, which is choosing to
approach difficult circumstances with a productive mindset, can benefit on several levels. The Mayo Clinic states
that a positive attitude can lower your stress level, which is good for your
health. A positive attitude can also improve your relationships and change how
your boss perceives both you and your teaching. The teacher have to have
positive attitude in the classroom to make the students active and get energy
in studying. The teacher lead the students to have positive hope, give
appreciation, Gratitude, making students confidence and creating the Resilience.
I have experience when I was senior high school, I have a teacher who always prepared
anyting before teaching include the classroom management where each students
had different seat in different meeting so everyday the students have new
situation tha was not making us bored in the class, beside that the all
students enthusiastic to join her class because not only, she had good
management classroom but she always give the students motivation a lot and
appreciation, and she was never underestimate their students. She has positive
attitude to the students and all the students easy to understand their material
and enjoy to join her class.
The
research that the title relevant with teacher’s attitude is the Effect of Teacher Attitude, Experience,
and Background Knowledge on the use of inquiry Method teaching in the Elementary
classroom. This research was
conducted to see how much of a role teacher's attitudes towards science itself,
and science instruction in particular, plays in deciding to use an inquiry
approach to teaching science. Surveys concerning science background, science
training and instruction, and teacher attitude towards science were sent to
teachers currently in elementary classrooms teaching science (Cathleen Garcia, 2003 ). Others
research that relevant is The Impact Of Teacher-Student Interaction On Student
Motivation And Achievement with particular reference to study design Tisome t. Nugent (2009, p. ii) Suggested
uses for the study included the development of workshops for educators and
administrators that may have a positive effect on the proven significance of
the teacher-student relationship problem. The results suggest the need for
teachers to be provided with appropriate resources and assistance to meet the
needs of their students beyond academic instruction. Teaching effectiveness was found to mediate the effect
of punishment on motivation while motivation mediated the effect of punitive
strategies on achievement. Motivation was found to have the strongest effect on
achievement. Beside teacher attitude and teacher motivation research that is
relative with classroom environment is Influence Of Effective
Classroom-Management & Positive Teaching District that found about offers practical information
for primary teachers to become more knowledge able, skilled and effective
in their work. Aspects of positive teaching
and learning are explored. Innovative methods for transforming common classroom
management struggles into opportunities for positive change and for changing
negative behaviors into positive interactions are explained. Classroom climate,
expectations, motivation, and methods for constructive reflection on mistakes
are investigated to support teachers in developing a positive learning
environment, code of conducted by (Katharina Sieberer-Nagler, 2015). This positive attitude helps the teachers to be role
model for the future generation of students. Base on the research that is The
Effects Of Teachers’ Attitudes On Students’ Personality And Performance, the most important findings of the research evidenced
that teachers’ positive attitudes have positively influence students’
personality as well as their life performances. Based on these findings
teachers’ role in lifespan education as beyond a simple knowledge transformation is
discussed (Melis Seray Ozden at all).
